Broadsheet - How Do You Shochu?
The best way to introduce a traditional product to a new market is to let the culture speak for itself. And when you've got three prominent Japanese restauranteurs ready to talk about their relationship with Shochu, the role of production is to get out of the way and let that happen beautifully.
Working with Broadsheet, we transformed a single guiding question into a visually striking interview series. The studio setup used vibrant, varied backgrounds that aligned with the Koyomi brand colours, creating a cohesive visual language across the whole series without it ever feeling repetitive.
The conversations moved beyond the beverage itself into the personal philosophies and hospitality principles of each guest. By the time the viewer finishes an episode, Shochu doesn't feel like an unfamiliar spirit. It feels like an essential part of the dining experience they've been missing.
Controlled lighting, high-quality audio, and a production style that felt elevated but not cold. Every technical choice was made in service of the story.
The final series bridges the tradition of Shochu and the modern Australian lifestyle in a way that feels genuinely authentic, not performed. Cultural storytelling at its best.
