SEC Victoria brought us in to cover the sod turn for the Delburn Wind Farm in Gippsland, the day the SEC confirmed it would build and own the project outright.
A sod turn on its own is a pretty short moment, so we filmed interviews around the event as well, with the SEC, its project partner, a local landowner and members of the community.
In the edit, they tell the story between them. The landowner talks about how well locals were consulted, and others speak about a region that's been producing Victoria's power for 100 years and is now changing the way it does it. The wind farm also overlooks the former Hazelwood Power Station site, which gets a mention too.
The video also covers what the project means for the region: around 300 local jobs during construction, hundreds of millions of dollars in economic impact, and a benefit-sharing package for the community and nearby neighbours.
